AcupressureAcupressure blends a variety of different techniques to balance the natural flow of energy in the body and mind. An acupressure expert uses gentle yet deep finger pressure on specific acu-points and verbal body focusing techniques, to help release chronic tension and balance or energy. Through a series of sessions, the mind/body awareness increases while chronic muscle tension is progressively released in the neck, head, shoulders, chest, diaphragm abdominal and pelvic segments, and in the back, arms and legs. During the session the client remains clothed and lies on his or her back while the acupressurist holds combinations of acu-points while the client determines the depth of the pressure. A feeling of safety in touch and a sense of wonder and synchronicity characterize the work. The client may share feelings or emotions that surface during the release of tension and stress, or just relax, even falling into a deep refreshing sleep. Acupressure is now also being used in facials to relieve stress and tension, and help melt away the years. |
